Some information about Koalas

Koala is a wild animal found on trees. This animal is very popular because it is very interesting in appearance. Usually koala animal is found in the forests. The interesting thing about the koala is that this animal is found only in Australia. This creature looks like a panda or a bear but this creature is not a bear. Koalas are found in the eucalyptus forests in the eastern part of Australia. Fossils of this creature have been found about 20 million years ago.

It is a vegetarian wild animal. Koala eats up to 1 kg of eucalyptus leaves in a day. Eucalyptus leaves are their main and only food. The koala animal does not drink water because it supplies water from the moisture of the leaves. That's why this creature is also called "no drink". The koala's predatory animal is very rare. Sometimes their babies or small sized females are eaten by big birds or snakes. Because of this, their prey is very less. Eucalyptus leaves are tough and poisonous. The digestive system of a koala animal consists of an organ called the cecum. This organ works to rapidly break down and digest the leaves. By the way, their digestive system is weak, due to which it takes a whole day to digest their food. Some bacteria are formed in their digestive system which eliminates the poison, which is why eucalyptus leaves do not harm it.

Their body size varies from 60 cm to 85 cm. Koalas weigh up to 14 kg. The koala has brown hair or fur on its body. This creature has a long nose which is pink or black in color. The brain is very small in relation to the body. Such a body-brain ratio is rarely seen in animals. The toes of the koala animal are very strong, due to which the koala climbs the trees easily. Their grip on the branches is strong, and fingerprint is like that of a human. Babies are blind and deaf at birth, and they have a great sense of smell and touch.

The female koala has a pouch on its body which is exactly like that of a kangaroo. The female koala carries her baby in this pouch. A koala baby is only 2 inches long at birth. The weight of the child is also only half a gram. The baby lives in the koala's pouch for about 6 months. It is in this bag that the mother nourishes the child. For the next 6 months, the baby stays on its mother's back. In this way the female koala carries her baby.
